The date is November 3rd, 2020, and the decision between Joe Biden or Donald Trump running the United States is crucial. This election has received the largest turn out in history (5:00). In the past four years, the American people have been very vocal about their opinions. This election does not have domestic terrorists at voting polls as the public has gotten strong enough to pull against them (8:00). The military has stated publicly that it will not get involved with this election (12:20).

     Throughout history there have been many instances where a progressive president follows a not so progressive president. A great example of this is Abraham Lincoln following James Buchanan (15:00). One of Abraham Lincoln’s main initiatives was to abolish slavery. Even the people who weren’t for black equality voted for Lincoln as they feared elite slave owners would rise up turning America into an oligarchy (16:30). James Buchanan during his term was a cowardly president and did not attempt to abolish slavery nor try to prevent a civil war from breaking out and all hell broke lose once Lincoln was in office (21:20). Lincoln would later reform the country.

      The Election of 1892 saw president Grover Cleveland against Benjamin Harrison (23:30). Harrison defeated Cleveland in an earlier election, but Cleveland’s Republican followers purposefully destroyed the economy when things weren’t going their way (28:50).

      Then Election of 1932 saw Franklin Delano Roosevelt defeat Herbert Hoover (31:00). FDR implanted a new way to run government after Herbert Hoover’s presidency incited The Great Depression. FDR is responsible for social security and the government helping its people when they cannot hep themselves (39:00). He took much inspiration from Abraham Lincoln in this ideology (40:00).
